Balloon Fiesta - New Mexico EXP
It’s me, Taco—the Marlin and your favorite Colorado mascot—coming to you from one of the most vibrant events in the world, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta! I recently had the pleasure of attending Balloon Fiesta EXP, where the skies were as colorful as a painter’s palette, filled with hundreds of hot air balloons rising into the clear New Mexico sky.
For those of you who haven’t had the chance to experience it, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a world-renowned event held annually. It’s the largest hot air balloon festival on the planet, attracting balloonists and enthusiasts from all over. This year’s event featured an explosion of colors and creativity, with balloons of all shapes and sizes—from classic round balloons to wild shapes like animals and even cartoon characters!
I was lucky enough to catch a front-row seat to this spectacular show, and let me tell you—it was poppin’! But the highlight of Balloon Fiesta EXP wasn’t just the breathtaking sights. It was all about connecting with the awesome people and companies that made the event soar. A big fin-flip of thanks goes to our sponsors who helped make it all possible:

The Balloon Fiesta isn’t just a visual treat, though. It’s an experience. From sunrise mass ascensions to evening balloon glows, the entire day is packed with balloon launches, races, and even competitions. And the crowd? Electric! Imagine thousands of spectators, all eyes on the sky, cheering as balloons take flight against the backdrop of the Sandia Mountains.
I also found myself wondering what it would be like to float up in one of those balloons. A Marlin in the sky? Why not! I’ve already conquered the seas; air seems like the next adventure, right?
If you’ve never been to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, it’s a must-see. Between the lively atmosphere, incredible balloon designs, and the chance to meet some of the brightest minds in the lighting industry (shout-out again to Ligman, Lumenture, and Sonneman!), this event truly took things to the next level.
