2021 VINOCHROMATIC RECAP, COURTESY OF TACO
Taco here,
If you're new to the Taco Blog, let me break it down to you land-walkers. I am the namesake of Visual Interest's blog, the VI mascot & resident party animal. I am mounted to the gallery wall, where I watch over the comings & goings of this crazy office - and one of my jobs it to keep my admirers updated on current events via this blog.
For our second time illuminating Vinochromatic, Visual Interest teamed up with The Banshee House (a fellow RiNo neighbor) for a unique, two week, light and wine experience. In a nutshell, Vinochromatic was the event that made lights and wine collide, and it did NOT flop!
Now as I have said before, I myself am a tequila guy, but Vinochromatic may have turned me into a wine connoisseur. Plus, wine often pairs well with fish. Not to mention, Colorado has the BEST wine and food vendors so Vinochromatic sourced all of the food and wine vendors from Colorado Wineries, distributors, and restaurants.
You may be asking, “what kind of lighting rep partakes in a wine festival?”, but you must’ve forgotten that VI isn’t just any ole lighting rep. VI endeavors to create unique experiences that show off our manufacturers’ products in an exciting atmosphere.
Rosco, our manufacturer specializing in projections, provided tremendous support in creating a maze of color in Denver’s Dairy Block. Using the X-Effects and Image Spot projectors, Rosco created a custom gobo that includes the ‘Vinochromatic’ logo for projection. Experiencing the creative use of light and space exhibits the types of effects that can be created with Rosco’s product portfolio.
Vinochromatic’s host, The Banshee House, partnered with We Don’t Waste in efforts to reduce hunger and food waste in the Denver area by recovering quality, used food from the industry and delivering it to nonprofit partners such as food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools, daycare programs, etc. When the festival was said and done, The Banshee House donation resulted to nearly 12,000 meals distributed to the community, roughly 8,750 pounds of food kept out of the landfill, and keeps more than 5,000 pounds of greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere.
Although not a lighting specific industry event, VI had to jump on an opportunity to be the lighting sponsor for a Denver festival and be a part of something larger that showcases the power of light.
Cowabunga dudes,
Taco.
