BOTANIC GARDENS FREYER NEWMAN CENTER

The Denver Botanic Gardens Freyer Newman Center was completed in collaboration with Visual Interest, Davis Partnership Architects (architecture, interior design and lighting design), BCER Engineering, CED Denver, GH Phipps and Weifield Electric. Photographed by Jake Holschuh.

Alyssa Weber and Jarrod Reimer with Visual Interest, Lisa Bartlett with Davis Partnership, and Gregg Adams and Dan O’Connell with BCER received a 2021 IES Merit Award for their design of Denver Botanic Gardens Freyer Newman Center.

A unique Crestron Commercial Lighting Controls wired/wireless hybrid system utilized multiple control protocols to satisfy the Gardens’ requirement for flexibility, as well as the project budget and fast-paced schedule. The product features distributed Zum Wireless in the majority of the building, a CAEN dimming panel for the auditorium, and a DALI tunable white system for the specialty classroom spaces. All of these system types have unified control via headend wireless Crestron touchscreens.
