SPECIFICATION SALES - NEW MEXICO

The Specification Sales position is responsible for developing relationships with architects, engineers and lighting designers to generate lighting sales across Visual Interest’s New Mexico territory. Accountable for servicing dedicated client list, ensuring knowledge of new products, providing resources and timely follow-up. The position entails conducting regular sales calls with customers, providing timely responses to all customer questions and requests, meeting with and entertaining clients, producing specification documents, and providing excellent and professional customer service as a representative of Visual Interest.

Salary: $65k+ depending on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for closing orders and generating new sales.

  • Produce lighting layouts, photometric calculations, and cutsheet packages as required for customers.

  • Able to make a judgment call on working in the office or out in the field.

  • Produce BOM’s and budget pricing.

  • Attend meetings and conference calls with clients and manufacturers.

  • Respond quickly to all emails and calls.

  • Manage and meet deadlines for incoming requests.

  • Attend educational classes, meetings and events, often outside of work hours.

  • This position requires travel throughout the territory, and out of state for conferences and manufacturer visits.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent vocational training.

  • 3-5 Years’ experience in lighting/electrical industry preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Bluebeam, AGI32 and AutoCAD software experience preferred.

  • Ability to keep a professional demeanor in difficult situations

  • Ability to work alone and make decisions

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with internal departments in a clear and timely manner

  • Ability to close profitable orders
